Hello there,

This month, read about exciting new turtle trips to Costa Rica, learn about our school programs, get previews of new destinations, and help prevent a  new resort that would threaten a unique spot in Baja.

New Costa Rica Turtle Trips

Costa Rica is one a hotspot for sea turtles, with five species nesting on dozens of beaches.  SEE Turtles is excited to announce two new opportunities to participate hands-on in their protection:

  • Costa Rica Leatherbacks: Spend 2 nights volunteering on a leatherback conservation project, visit an indigenous reserve, and hike the rainforest.  Dates from April - June.  $1,495 pp, sign up now for a $100 discount!
  • Cocos Island Turtle & Shark Tagging: Join researchers for a once-in-a-lifetime diving trip.  Help study hammerheads and green turtles while living aboard a dive boat in an uninhabited national marine park.  Trip runs March 13-23, 2011.  $5,640 pp.

SEEtheWILD Coming Soon!

SEE Turtles will soon be expanding into a new project called SEEtheWILD, which will promote wildlife conservation tours for a wide variety of endangered animals.  The site will include trips focused on big cats, bears, birds, whales, and sharks in addition to turtles and every trip will benefit conservation efforts.  Keep an eye out for an announcement soon and join our new Facebook group.

SEE Turtles School Programs

Teachers, come learn about the ways we support turtle education.  Bring your class on a turtle field trip, hold a fundraiser for turtle conservation , or bring us to your class to talk turtles.  We also have lesson plans and other resources for teachers.

Help Protect Cabo Pulmo

Cabo Pulmo National Park in Baja California Sur, Mexico protects one of the most unique and diverse ocean habitats in North America.  However, this park is under threat from a huge resort that will damage both the coral reef and local community.  Show your support for this wonderful place by signing the petition to stop this project.

Thanks for your support and please contact us with any questions.
