Hello there,

Happy Summer!  We're celebrating our favorite time of the year by visiting our turtle friends in Costa Rica, read on for ways to follow along.  Also, please join us for a camping adventure to Baja this Fall.  Finally, we have two ways to help the turtles in the Gulf this month, by pressuring BP to take better care to protect turtles and by helping fund a new effort we are working on by purchasing cool gear from FashionFish.

Turtles, iguanas, butterflies, and more!

This month, SEE Turtles co-founder Brad Nahill is reporting from Costa Rica, where he is leading two groups to visit our partners in the country's South Caribbean region.  We are posting accounts of the trip on our blog and videos and photos on our Facebook page.  Come to learn about the incredible things this area has to offer and help us reach 5,000 fans on Facebook!

Support SEE Turtles Through Fashionfish

Fashionfish is a great environmentally-minded company that produces cool ocean-themed clothes for kids.  This summer, they are donating 20% of all sales towards our efforts to protect sea turtles including a visit we are planning to the Gulf of Mexico during hatchling season to keep pressure on BP and the government when most media outlets will have moved on.

Stop BP from burning turtles in the oil spill

A recent interview with a boat owner hired by BP to help with the oil spill cleanup revealed that turtles are being burned alive in fires the company is setting to burn off the oil.  Our friends at Sea Turtle Restoration Project are speaking out about this tragedy, please add your voice here .  To learn about how oil and other pollutants affect turtles, visit our website and join us on Facebook and Twitter for other ways to help.

Baja Camping Adventure

Bad news getting you down?  Why not join SEE Turtles and Baja Expeditions on an expedition this November to work with sea turtles and camp on two islands in Baja?  On this trip, you will participate in research on black sea turtles in Magdalena Bay with members of EcoTortugueros, a local conservation travel cooperative.  The group will also camp on Espiritu Santo Island and kayak in both the Sea of Cortez and Magdalena Bay.  The trip is $1,795 per person, of which $710 goes towards turtle conservation and local communities.  Dates are Nov. 8 - 15, 2010.

Thanks for your support.  Feel free to contact us with any questions.
