Hello there,

A lot going on this month, we have new dates for a unique turtle & whale trip to Baja, an urgent action alert to protect turtles, and a request to help our friends raise money to protect the Gulf of Mexico.

New Date for Baja Whale & Turtle Trip

We are excited to announce that we have just opened a new date for the Whale Watching & Turtle Research trip to Baja California Sur, Mexico!  Our first two trips with Baja Expeditions have already filled so this is the last chance to experience the friendly gray whales and help study green sea turtles in Magdalena Bay.  Click here for the full itinerary and to get more information.  Trip date : Jan 26 - Feb 2, 2010.  Cost: $1,795 per person.

Help Plant A Fish Restore the Gulf

We just spent some time with Fabien Cousteau of Plant A Fish at the Blue Ocean Film Festival.  Fabien, grandson of the famed Jacques Cousteau, has started an effort to restore the Gulf of Mexico's mangroves.  You can vote for this project to win a $50,000 grant at the Pepsi Refresh contest here.  We hope to announce a new partnership to support turtle conservation with Plant A Fish in El Salvador soon!

Protect Marine Mammals from Fishing Gear!

Our friends at Sea Turtle Restoration Project are working to reduce the number of dolphins, whales, and other marine mammals getting caught in fishing gear.  Click here to sign a petition to the National Marine Fisheries Service.

Thanks for your help!  Next month, we will have new trips to Trinidad and more ways to participate!
